In the field of new energy and new materials, lithium ore, as an major national strategic resource, is known as the "white oil" and "green energy metal" which changed the world pattern in the 21st century. It is an indispensable key raw material for the development of the new energy vehicle industry. However, compared to other countries, China's salt lake brine has poor natural endowment, which is reflected in complex water quality, low lithium concentration, and high magnesium lithium ratio. The process of purifying and separating lithium resources from high magnesium and low lithium brine is very difficult, which makes the lithium industry face dual barriers of technology and resources. Therefore, extracting lithium from high magnesium lithium ratio salt lakes has become a global problem. In 2017, Xi'an Gold-In Membrane Environmental Protection Technology Co., Ltd. was established under the control of Shaanxi Membrane Separation Technology Research Institute Co., Ltd. The company developed a green brine lithium extraction technology with "efficient adsorption" as the core, mainly aiming at the problem of limited traditional salt lake lithium extraction process. This technology overcame the worldwide problem of extracting Lithium carbonate from underground brine with low concentration and ultra-high magnesium lithium ratio, and reached the battery level at one time. It has applied for more than 20 national invention patents. The application of membrane separation technology in the recovery of valuable and rare resources from potassium extraction waste in salt lakes has entered a new stage, and the foundation for creating significant environmental, social, and economic benefits has been formed.
