Shaanxi Membrane Separation Technology Research Institute

Shaanxi Membrane Separation Technology Research Institute, hereinafter referred to as“the Research Institute”, is a comprehensive research and development institution in the field of membrane separation approved to be established in May 2017 with the support of Department of Science and Technology of Shaanxi Province, relaying on the advantageous disciplines of Xi'an University of Architecture and Technology and Professor Wang Lei's team. The scientific research platforms including Key Laboratory for Membrane Separation of Shaanxi Province, Shaanxi Membrane Material Industry Innovation Center and Xi'an Membrane Separation Technology Engineering Laboratory are set under the Institute, which mainly focus on the key issues and major common technical difficulties in membrane separation science and technology, to conduct basic scientific research and technological development, and provide technical support for industrialization as well as engineering applications.

To accelerate the transfer and transformation of scientific and technological achievements, the Shaanxi Membrane Separation Technology Research Institute Co., Ltd was initiated and established based on the Shaanxi Membrane Separation Technology Research Institute with the stakeholders including Sunwoda Electronic Co., Ltd (one of the largest research and design manufacturers of lithium battery product), Xi’an Hard & Core Technology Industry Investment Holding Group Co., Ltd (Cash investment representing government industry funds), Shaanxi Kekong Rongtong Assisted Entrepreneurship Investment Management Partnership Enterprise (Cash investment representing government industry funds), Hangzhou Yanta Investment Management Partnership (limited partnership) (social resources investors in cash), Xi'an University of Architecture and Technology Asset Management Co., Ltd. (representing the school to invest in intangible assets) and Professor Wang Lei Team (holding shares), forming a trinity innovation model of "Joint R&D Platform + professional incubator + seed/angel funding", which promotes the application, transformation, transfer, and incubation of research achievements, and provides feedback on key technical issues encountered in the practical application and transformation to the  Research Institute for further research.

Under the successful mode of promoting scientific and technological innovation and transformation through "one institute, one school” of Shaanxi Province, the Research Institute will in the future will continuously consider the paths to deepen the integration of industry, academia and research, and will actively explore new modes suitable for the transformation and application of achievements made by "university" research teams. The Institute will continuously improve its independent innovation ability, closely keep up with the deployment of the central government's new round of open development and the pace of domestic circulation, and build a large-scale development that integrates “R&D- transformation- resources-capital”, accordingly integrating education with industry, to embark on a new path of economic development and talent cultivation.
